Tim is originally from Medford, Wisconsin. He attended college at the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse where he received a degree in Psychology, and more importantly met and married his wonderful wife and co-early-childhood-guru Christy. He came to Madison in 1999 to pursue his Master's Degree in Social Work. His road to FOL actually began before he moved to Madison, when he heard Pastor Alex speak at the Urbana 96 conference.

Relevant training for position

One summer when he was in college, his wife (then fiance) and him worked together at two jobs: one teaching at a YMCA camp and the other working with teenagers with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. This meant that we were around kids, and each other, from 8am until midnight nearly every day. This experience was great preparation for his current position - not only did he learn a lot about kids, but he learned how to be around my wife while being around kids.

I have a degree in Psychology with an emphasis on child development, and I also have a Master's Degree in Social Work. I currently work for a program called Family Support 360, where I support families who have children with developmental disabilities. Prior to this I spent three years as School-Age Coordinator at Campus For Kids, a ministry of Lake City Church in Madison.

He is also basically a big kid at heart, which helps a lot.

He has been involved with Children's Ministry at FOL since 2000, serving in a variety of roles including Early Childhood teacher, Alpha teacher, and working with the summer ACE program.

His best training for this position comes every day at home, being the parent of two young daughters.
