Children’s Ministry

Welcome, Karibuni, Bienvenidos,Yokoso from Sister Fabu

FOL's Children’s Ministry Director

The Fountain of Life Children’s Ministry welcomes you all with the love of Christ. Our theme scripture, “People were bringing little children to Jesus in order that He might touch them…” from Mark 10:13, is the foundation of our ministry. People are bringing their children to us that Jesus might touch their entire being, their spiritual, physical, mental, and academic selves, through the programming that we offer at Fountain of Life and through the people who are our team members.

We have a handbook that is a guide in understanding what we believe, how we care for children, and what is expected of team members and parents. We minister to children with the Word of God and by showing the love of Christ in ways that they can best understand through our curriculum, music, field trips and play, arts and crafts and special events. Our yearly special events include African American History Month, Easter Program, Vacation Bible School, School Supplies Day, Octoberfast, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Christmas/Kwanzaa Program, and a focus on helping children in Haiti.

It is the vision of the Senior Pastor, Alex Gee, that our entire church under-gird and support children, including those whose parents are members of our congregation and children from our surrounding community.

Our Mission

The Children’s Ministry of FOL is blessed with the mission of encouraging spiritual foundations in the lives of young children, from 2 years to eighth grade. We promote understanding of the Gospel, familiarity with stories and teachings from the Old and New Testaments, appreciation of God’s relevance to everyday life, scripture memorization, and special events throughout the year. Children also learn about and experience worship and prayer and are given opportunities to begin a personal relationship or/and to nurture and continue a personal relationship with Jesus.

Our children’s team is sensitive to:

  • The necessity of love, respect, and discipline as guiding principles in the classroom.
  • The importance of age-appropriate curriculum.
  • The varied levels of exposure our children have to God’s Word.
  • The dynamics of multiculturalism.
  • The power of artistic expression in learning and young growth.

Our Vision

We ask God for team members who exhibit and share a Christ-centered life based on Biblical principles. We need people who have experience working with multi-ethnic and multi-cultural children or have a willingness to learn. Our children’s team:

  • Complete an orientation session
  • Participate in trainings as scheduled throughout the year
  • Attend quarterly Children’s Ministry meetings
  • Be faithful in preparation and attendance on the Sunday they serve.
  • Observe Wednesday fast and prayer time for the ministry. (Fasting is from waking until noon for those are medically able.)
