Autumn Swain, Exit to Serve Coordinator

Background information

Autumn Shadis As Autumn Alena Swain looks back at the many seasons God has brought her through, she sees how His hand has been molding her through it all, making her into the shepherd, encourager, teacher, prayer warrior, friend, daughter, sister, leader, student, and servant that she is today. She was raised a Christian in a rural setting with a heart for the city, an interest in urban culture, and an appreciation for all of God’s Creation, from the forests to the ghettos, and ALL the people in between. She graduated with an degree in Kinesiology-Athletic Training from UW and now attends seminary at Bakke Graduate Seminary and works part time with FOL and Nehemiah. She is a certified personal trainer and she loves motivating and helping people be healthy, physically, emotionally/mentally, and most importantly, spiritually.

Her heart is with missions and community outreach, youth ministry, and servant leader development to create more laborers for the harvest. (Luke 10:2) She believes that the abundant life Christ died for us to have comes through an intimate relationship with God and an unconditional love and compassion for Creation resulting in sacrificial service. This is the challenge God has brought her to in her life over the last 23 years of learning and growing in Christ and what she hopes to be a part of in imparting unto others.

Relevant training for position

She is a committed student of the Word of God and believer in the necessity and power of prayer first and foremost. She has a lot of experience in and passion for multi-cultural settings. She is studying for a Masters in Urban Global ministry at an amazing graduate school. Affirmation to her call into full time ministry happened on two missions trips in two major US cities a several years ago and she has been involved in urban ministry in some capacity ever since. Her training in the administrative aspect started at FOL less than 2 years ago, but her strengths also are responsibility, organization, servanthood, and a drive for excellence that affirms that part of the job.
